Uptown construction squeezes Blanshard traffic
Commuters are getting used to seeing the major construction site that is transforming the former Town and Country shopping centre into the Uptown development.

Two lanes on Blanshard Street between Ravine and Saanich Roads will be closed this weekend for construction work on the Uptown Shopping Centre.
A large mobile crane will be brought in and will be situated on Blanshard from Sept. 12 to 13. Expect delays in the area or plan to use an alternate route.
There is ongoing single-lane traffic at the intersection of Shelbourne Street and Feltham Road until Sept. 18. The northbound curb lane is closed from 7 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
There is single-lane alternating traffic between 4903 and 5008 Old West Saanich Road for the city's Public Works department to work. The single-lane traffic is scheduled to run from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. until Friday Sept. 30.
