A Victoria doctor has been suspended from his practice for six months after admitting he had unprofessional conduct with a patient.
Dr. Charles Richard Myers practised at the Cook and Quadra medical clinic, 3461 Cook St. and is suspended for six months until March 1, 2010 according to a statement from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.
In 2006, Myers was found to have failed to provide appropriate draping to a patient, remained in the room while she removed her top and while she put it back on.
He also engaged in inappropriate conversation.
He must undergo counselling and meet with the executive committee or board of the college, and could return to practice early if conditions are met.
Myers must pay $1,500 and must have a chaperone present during all sensitive examinations of female patients and must post signs that he will do so when he returns to his practice.
