Gunman pleads guilty to weapons charges

Christopher Sura Johnson, 24, has pleaded guilty to weapons charges after Saanich police arrested him in response to a report of shots being fired near Shelbourne Plaza in June.
Johnson was arrested at his Haultain Avenue home in Victoria the morning after several rounds were fired at a house on McIvor Avenue.
He pleaded guilty to unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance. He was given 60 days credit for the 30 days spent in custody, and will now face a six-month conditional sentence followed by six months of probabation, as well as a 10-year firearm prohibition.
