Traffic closures in Saanich
Updated: August 04, 2009 10:27 AM
Roadwork will slow Saanich traffic this week as engineering crews with the district replace a fire hydrant along Arbutus Road near Aspen Place.
The alternating single lane traffic change will affect east and westbound traffic between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
The partial road closure is added to a list of others currently affecting traffic throughout the district, including watermain work on McKenzie Avenue at Rainbow Street, and a curb and sidewalk replacement on Cordova Bay Road near Temple Avenue.
"Right now they're out doing several smaller jobs - like the Arbutus fire hydrant - so we get these spurts of several days, or a week, or a few weeks of tying up loose ends on small projects," said Mike Ippen, manager of public works with the district of Saanich.
The Arbutus road closure is in effect on Tuesday and Wednesday.
