Japanese royalty visits capital this weekend

Japanese Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko walk down the steps of the B.C. legislature Saturday after signing a guest book in the Rotunda inside. With them is Premier Gordon Campbell and Nancy Campbell. The Japanese couple is in Victoria at the end of a 12-day tour of Canada. They visit the Institute of Ocean Sciences tomorrow. They fly home to Japan on Tuesday.

Japanese Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko visited the B.C. legislature Saturday after signing a guest book in the Rotunda inside. The royal couple were joined by Premier Gordon Campbell and Nancy Campbell. The Japanese couple is in Victoria at the end of a 12-day tour of Canada. They also plan to visit the Institute of Ocean Sciences. They fly home to Japan on Tuesday.
