Duo kicks off season at Grace Church

Duo Delirio opens its 2008-09 Concert Series with Children’s Corner: Songs and Piano Works by the Masters on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 2:30 p.m.

The duo features singers and instrumentalists Catherine Fern Lewis and Nicholas Fairbank and the concert takes place at Grace Lutheran Church, 1273 Fort St. For more information or tickets call 250-514-2669.

Sokoloff and friends

host tasty jazz night

Jazz vocalist Carol Sokoloff and Victoria’s Trio Espresso play Hermann’s Jazz Club Wednesday, Oct. 15th from 8 to 11 p.m. Joining Sokoloff on the bandstand are Kenny Seidman on piano, James Young on acoustic bass and Kelby McNayr on drums. Hermann’s is located at 753 View St.

Canuck alt rockers playing Sugar

Canadian alternative rockers Matt Mays and El Torpedo play Sugar Nightclub, 858 Yates St. on Friday, Oct. 24 with Arkells and Vince Vaccaro.

Doors open at 9 p.m. and tickets are available at Lyle’s Place, Ditch Records and online at www.ticketweb.ca.
