CFB Esquimalt staffer and United Way campaign representative Diane Luszniak, shows a portion of the nearly $700,000 the base hopes to raise this year. The base, with 5,500 military and civilian personnel, has beat that mark in each of the past three years. It’s the largest United Way contributor in Greater Victoria and second-largest among all DND facilities – second only to Ottawa, which has more than 14,000 employees.
