Grandstand seating is limited so bring lawn chairs.
The show kicks off at 1:30 p.m. at the Victoria Polo Club, 7161 Wallace Dr.
Tickets are available at Tourism Victoria or by calling 250-953-2033.
Scroll denounces Iranian president
Members of Victoria’s Iranian community signed what they hope is the world’s largest protest scroll denouncing Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
The scroll reads, “Ahmadinejad is not Iran’s president.”
The UVic Persian club and the Iranian Community of Victoria organized the ceremony last Friday.
The scroll will travel to 136 different cities around the world.
Library searches for book readers
This summer, you might consider curling up with a great book on a park bench rather than the couch.
Greater Victoria Public Library staff will be scouring the region looking for readers and rewarding them with prizes. Extra prizes are available for those caught reading a library book.
