Organic festival showcases environmental leaders

The fifth annual Organic Islands Festival takes place in Saanich this weekend. The festival showcases more than 150 exhibitors, featuring locally-grown organic food as well as green businesses and leaders in sustainability.
Musical guests Oliver Swain, Jeremy Fisher and the Grapes of Wrath will grace the main stage. Panel discussions include "How to Create Sustainable Change" and Vancouver Island's answer to the "100 Mile Diet."
The festival takes place at Glendale Gardens and Woodland, 505 Quayle Road, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., July 4 and 5. For more information, go to www.organicislands.ca.
