In an effort to attract young women to the field of electronics, Camosun College’s Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology department is offering a one-day workshop for Grade 10 girls.

“The number of female students in our program continues to be dismally low, despite the fantastic career opportunities for both men and women,” said workshop leader Joyce van de Vegte. “Our graduates are in high demand for well-paying and interesting jobs. It’s such a rewarding career.”

The course is free, but pre-registration is required. The workshop runs Tuesday, Nov. 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. For details, call Van de Vegte at 250-370-4438 or e-mail her at vandevegte@camosun.bc.ca.
