An urgent alarm
Climate change is a challenge that is unlike anything previous.
Surely the rational order of business is to get ‘all hands on deck’ in ensuring all relevant government ministries are at work on a serious Canadian plan to address it.
The people of the world are sounding an urgent alarm, but governments, militaries, and corporations seem not to hear.
Canada’s Conservative government seems particularly oblivious, or unconcerned, about the pace of climate change. To neglect to act now, when all the reputable science agrees on the seriousness of our challenge, is a crime against our children and grandchildren.
The time for effective action by all Canadians is now. Major initiatives from our federal government are needed quickly if you and others in Parliament are to regain credibility. Please reply with examples of such initiatives that I can expect, especially in green energy, heating, retrofitting, and transit.
