Sidney Army Navy and Air Force Unit 302 once again gave back to the community. Unit 302 President Shane Holwell presented a cheque for $2,000 to Karen Morgan, director Saanich Peninsula Hospital Foundation as she accepted the donation on behalf of the palliative care unit.

Holwell also presented a $1,500 cheque to Brian Robinson, Sidney Guide and Scout Society as he reiterated a great need for new steps and other upgrades to the hall in time for the Guide and Scouts 100th anniversary in 2013.

AN&AF Sidney Unit 302 is a proud supporter of the community having contributed more than $588,612 in the last 10 years from the charity meat draws held every week.

The public is welcome to come and visit the unit on Fourth Street and are invited to join the association in support of our veterans and the community.

With November 11 fast approaching they encourage Sidney and the surrounding areas to be with them in remembering the sacrifices of all who paid the ultimate price and support those that came back so that we have the freedom of today.
