The second publication is a collection of short autobiographical prose pieces by Canadian literary icon, and Victorian, the writer and artist P.K. Page. Owner Stacey Kraus purchased the business in 1997 and has expanded it to a four store operation, including, in addition to Sidney, downtown Victoria, Oak Bay and Colwood. DTI builds custom computer systems, and offers parts, upgrades, laptops, accessories, software, peripherals, a full service repair shop, and advice on everything computers. The 24-year-olds are the youngest dive shop owners in the northwest. They offer PADI dive instruction in their in-house classroom, charters, gear sales and rentals, and suit and tank service. Amenities include free parking, rinse facilities, change room, secure storage and an apres dive social space. They’re open daily from 9 to 6, except Tuesdays, at 10221 McDonald Park Road W. Fergchester’s Books and Things has joined the Sidney Booktown family. Between them, they owned enough books to begin stocking the shop. For the rest they deal with wholesale used-book suppliers. In addition to fiction, Fergchester’s will specialize in cookbooks, nautical-themed books and photography books. Mona, an Avon dealer, will set up a mini-store in the shop, stocking products and offering catalogue sales. And arriving soon, one thousand, mainly edible, products suitable for gift baskets and stocking stuffers. Fergchester’s, at 2426 Bevan Avenue, corner of Bevan and Fourth, is open 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., seven days a week.
