Pour for Parkinsons
Pour a drink to fundraise for the Victoria Epilepsy and Parkinson’s Centre.
Bruce Jordan, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s on his daughter’s first day of kindergarten, contacted VEPC and joined a newcomers group. A few years later in 2007, the Jordans hosted a benefit event for the centre at their newly opened Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse. On Tuesday they’ll host the Third Annual Pouring for Parkinson’s — an opportunity to enjoy a relaxed evening of cider, live music, and hors d’oeuvres with silent auction while raising funds and awareness for the VEPC.
Pouring for Parkinson is Tuesday, November 10 from 6 to 9 p.m. at 2487 Mt. St. Michael Rd. Call 250-544-4824 for tickets; $35 each or $60 with a $25 tax receipt.

Godspell onstage at White theatre
The Peninsula Players’ rendition of Godspell continues in the Charlie White Theatre Nov. 6 and 7, at 8 p.m. plus Nov. 8, for a 2:30 p.m. matinee performance.
In a rare twist, God’s messenger is being played by female actor Whitney Benson. This is Benson’s first production with the Peninsula Players. Most recently she was Agnes in Agnes of God with Theatre BC in Nanaimo, and then went on to Taming of the Shrew in Mill Bay, her other roles included Linda in Blood Brothers and Adelaide in Guys and Dolls. The role of John the Baptist/Judas will be played by Gerald Schieven. Tickets are $22 for adults, $18 for seniors and students and $11 for children under 12.
