Colliers International real estate company donated $100,000 to the B.C. Cancer Foundation's Inspire the World campaign.

The donation will establish the Colliers International Youth Lounge in the Vancouver Island Cancer Centre. The lounge will be for children and teens whose families are receiving cancer treatment.

"Children and youth will have access to counselling and peer support groups and the youth lounge will be a fun, social meeting place with comfortable couches, healthy snacks, arts and crafts, and computers for youth," said campaign director Laura Walsh.

The youth lounge is just one part of the cancer centre's 10,000 square foot renovation and expansion. The B.C. Cancer Foundation hopes to raise $10 million to complete the project.

The Vancouver Island Cancer Centre is located in Victoria.
