Hamish Mayhill, lead hand on the New Marine Centre construction crew, checks out some fishy living quarters after the arrival of a new set of tank habitats at the centre. The centre will eventually have 14 habitats and this one, the largest, stands at six feet wide, 15 feet four inches long, and eight feet six inches high. It will hold 21 tons of water and a wide range of local marine life. ‘It’s good to have a big habitat, to show different fish in context with each other,’ said Angus Matthews, the centre’s executive director. For those interested in checking out the tanks, the centre has another open house scheduled for November 30.
