Chanelle Biggan and Ethan Swinburnson of the Juan de Fuca Skating Club are in Mississauga this week, representing the B.C. Team at the 2009 BMO Skate Canada Western and Eastern Challenge.
The two are competing in the Pre-Novice Dance category. The BMO Skate Challenge runs Dec. 3-7 at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga, Ont.
Cougars, Panthers meet for first, Thursday
As has been the case all season, when the Victoria Cougars and Peninsula Panthers meet on Thursday first place in the South Island Division will be on the line.
Victoria (18-6-4) is on a two-game win streak and is 11-2-2 on home ice. The Panthers (20-3-4) roll into the Archie Browning Sports Centre as winners of their last seven, 10-3-1 on the road. Game time at Archie Browning is 7:15 p.m., Thursday night. The ABSC is located at 1151 Esquimalt Rd.
Salmon Kings master road game
The Victoria Salmon Kings concluded their three-game ECHL set against the Utah Grizzlies on Saturday with a 2-1 victory, giving the Kings the series sweep. With that the Kings take the season series from the Grizzlies 4-2.
The Salmon Kings are in Ontario, Calif. tonight (Dec. 3) against the expansion Ontario Reign. Puck drop is at 7 p.m. with audio play-by-play available through the team’s webcast at www.salmonkings.com.
