Philharmonic fling coming to Sooke

The eighth annual “Philharmonic Fling!,” the Sooke Philharmonic Orchestra’s open air pops concert in a park by the sea in Sooke, is coming up on Sunday, July 19.

This year the theme for the show is Fanfares and Gypsies. The show starts at 2:30 p.m and the gates at Ed Macgregor Park in Sooke will be opened at 1 p.m. to allow everyone to stake out their spot before the show.

Under the helm of conductor Christopher Taber, the soloists for the show are Merrie Klazek on trumpet and Julian Vitek on violin.

Admission for the show is free and for more information call 250-642-2849.
