New art gallery opens in Dragon Alley
Published: November 26, 2008 3:51 PMDab Gallery, a contemporary art gallery, will open in Dragon Allery on Saturday, Dec. 6.
There will be a grand opening party from 1 to 5 p.m. at #6 532 ½ Fisgard Street in Dragon Alley.
Dab will feature a collection of artistic work by both new and established artists including a variety of media such as painting, sculpture, ceramic, glasswork and mixed media.
The new gallery is located in Chinatown’s historic alley, which is fast becoming a hub for shoppers and pedestrians alike in the downtown core.
Carolyn Butula and Andrew Todd said they’re more than ready to dive into the tough but lucrative market of gallery ownership.
“We are excited to share with the community the inspiration and beauty we have found in the works of our artists. We work with the client to find art that is suited toward their personality, taste and environment, ” said Butula.
Dab’s grand opening show includes the works by artists hand-picked by the owners. The artists will be on-hand to talk about their work.
They include Autumn Skye Morrison from the Sunshine Coast, Isa Sevrain, originally from Berson in west South France, Robert Ives and Robert Fisher.
