Ken Lavigne singing at brain injury gala

Victoria Brain Injury Society will host an intimate fundraising concert by Victoria tenor Ken Lavigne this Saturday (Nov. 21) at the Hotel Grand Pacific.

The event runs 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. and includes a champagne cocktail reception, tapas, a silent auction and songs from Ken Lavigne’s last three albums.

There are a limited number of tickets available from the Victoria Brain Injury Society for $150 per guest, please call 250-598-9339 for reservations.

Ladmores host show and sale

David and Laurie Ladmore host their annual Christmas art show and sale this Saturday and Sunday (Nov. 21-22).

The event runs for five weekends until Christmas and includes oil, acrylic, watercolour and etched pieces. The art can be viewed at 7-103 Menzies St. from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Go to www.davidladmore.com for more information.

Steamships topic of maritime talk

Well-known author Robert Turner will speak about Klondike steamships at the Maritime Museum, 28 Bastion Sq. this Sunday (Nov. 22). The event begins at 2 p.m. To reserve tickets ($15 or $12 for MMBC members) call 250-385-4222 ext. 103.
