Spreading peace with music

An upcoming concert in Victoria is calling for humanity and peace as part of a celebration of Daniel Pearl World Music Days.

The annual event has staged more than 3,100 music events in 85 countries since its inception in 2002. Daniel Pearl was the Wall Street Journal reporter kidnapped and killed by terrorists in Pakistan in 2002.

This year’s Victoria concert is Saturday, Oct. 3 at 6:30 p.m. at St. Matthias Church Hall, 600 Richmond Ave. and features Qristina and Quinn Bachand’s Celtic Colours performance.

Tickets are $15 or $12 for students, kids under eight are free. Call 250-472-0999 to reserve.
