The Windsor Park Mixed Field Hockey League is looking for players of both genders.
League organizer Lorne Carnes says experience, while advantageous, is not necessary to join up. He notes that players have come from various sporting backgrounds and several husband-wife combinations have signed up in past.
The four-team league plays on Sundays with teams playing either at 1 or 2:30 p.m. on the grass at Windsor Park. The games are officiated using Field Hockey B.C. rules, but safety and fun are the key considerations, Carnes says.
Cost for the season is $30 and players must be registered with Field Hockey B.C. (go to www.fieldhockeybc.ca) for insurance purposes. For more information call 250-384-5499 or e-mail Lornecarnes@shaw.ca.
