No need for pint-size couch potatoes
At Oak Bay recreation’s Bee street pool, kids can join lifeguards this summer in a variety of themed swims that include games and prizes.
Next week (July 6 to 10) the theme is Pirate Plunder, followed by Under the Big Top, July 13-17 – where the elephant goes is anyone’s guess.
The activities get more serious July 20-24 with Drowning Prevention Week, and a Lifeguard Games competition runs from July 27-30.
As well as themed afternoons, a swim instructor and lifeguard training program begins on Monday, July 20, for 12 to 15 year olds.
If all you want to do is splash about with friends, children’s swim passes are on sale, with unlimited summer access for six to 12 year olds.
Day camps for landlubbers
