Oak Bay win field hockey Islands in shootout

The Oak Bay high school senior girls field hockey team are Island champs. Oak Bay captured the championship in Duncan on Saturday, defeating Cowichan secondary in a penalty stroke shootout, 2-1.
It was the first time Cowichan has lost a final in 14 years.
Kathleen Leahy scored the lone goal for Oak Bay during regulation time, sending the game to strokes. Adrienne Shepherd and Maddie Secco scored for Oak Bay, while Oak Bay goalie Andrea Bain held Cowichan to one goal in the stroke shootout.
Oak Bay, Cowichan secondary and Mount Doug secondary have all qualified for the provincial high school tournament running November 12-14 in Burnaby.
