Bring more than a hockey jersey and a painted face to the next home game for the Victoria Grizzlies — bring pennies.
The Pennies for Presents campaign is in full swing and Black Press is counting on everyone to pitch in a few copper coins to make this year’s holiday season memorable for people in Greater Victoria.
Pennies for Presents volunteers will be stationed at the front of Bear Mountain Arena on Nov. 29 collecting pennies and any other forms of cash before the Grizzlies face-off against the Nanaimo Clippers. The game starts at 7:10 p.m.
Pennies can be donated throughout the game. No matter who scores on the ice anyone who donates their pennies will be a winner.
All funds collected will be donated the Victoria Women’s Transition House, the Mustard Seed Food Bank and C-FAX radio’s Santas Anonymous.
If you miss the game, coins of any colour can be dropped off at the Goldstream News Gazette office, 117-777 Goldstream Ave. or downtown at Black Press, 818 Broughton St.
