Minor football preps for 2009 season

The Greater Victoria Minor Football Association is gearing up for the 2009 season on the gridiron.

Early registration runs Oct. 15 to Nov. 15 for the Westshore Warriors and the five other youth GVMFA football squads found around the Capital Region.

The league is also looking for a co-ordinator for the Westshore Warriors team. The position includes organizing field set up, organizing volunteers and being the representative for the West Shore in the league. GVMFA is also looking for volunteers to prepare fields and help with gear.

Registration open for run around Bear

Online registration is open for the scenic but tough Bear Mountain 10K run. The race loops around the resort’s golf course and kicks off Saturday Nov. 15, 9 a.m.

Triathlon series seeks volunteers

The Subaru West Coast Triathlon Series is looking for a volunteers director to assist the events director.
