Dales Gallery is bringing together visual art and poetry with the works of Ken Horn.
Horn's exhibit, as well as the launch of his book Ghost Flowers, Illustrated Poems, launches Thursday (Nov. 5) from 7 to 9 p.m.

When everyday becomes too much
This Friday (Nov. 6) at Open Space, Wendy Welch presents an installation that focuses on the abundance of everyday objects and the point where that tips into excess.
Founder of the Vancouver Island School of Art, Welch will give an artist talk at 7 p.m. The exhibit officially opens at 8. The free event happens at 510 Fort St.
Langham Court having a Picnic
It's the 1950s in the U.S.A. Greasers and jitterbugs congregate for a small-town picnic, but the well-built new guy in town is turning the heads of all the ladies.
Two of Langham Court's most experienced actors, Sylvia Rhodes and Vinnie Chadwick, head up the play Picnic, opening Thursday, Nov. 12 and running until Nov. 28. Call 250-384-2142 for advance tickets.
Goolden hosts jazzy ladies
Four of B.C.'s top female jazz singers are joining forces at the Alix Goolden Hall for two hours' worth of high-energy music, from jazz standards to ballads.
The Great Ladies of Jazz, set for Nov. 27, brings together Maria Manna, Miranda Sage, Maureen Washington and Melinda Whitaker, accompanied by a six-piece jazz band.
