Marchbank court date delayed

Court proceedings following the death of a Langford teenager are set to continue Nov. 12.
Arnett Roderick Marchbank, 50, is scheduled to appear at Western Communities Courthouse next month on charges of criminal negligence causing death. The Sooke resident was charged after he crashed his vehicle into the car driven by 19-year-old Jamie Jackson on Happy Valley Road. Jackson died on scene Jan. 3, 2009.
Witnesses reported seeing a man driving a Mercury station wagon attempting to pass traffic by veering into the northbound lane, in which Jackson was driving.
Marchbank's legal representation stated the need to have further meetings with his client before appearing in court.
