Olympic Torch Relay events across the West Shore

Fort Rodd Hill is offering shuttle service starting at 7:45 a.m. Oct. 31 from the Ocean Boulevard park-and-ride for the Olympic Torch Relay. Entry is free and a field regiment band and period actors will be on hand.

Colwood and West Shore Parks and Recreation will host a pancake breakfast and live music at Bear Mountain Arena from 8:30 a.m. until noon.

Langford will have food and hot drinks at city hall, as well as Belmont’s blues band, bagpipes and clowns for the kids, starting around 10 a.m.

On Oct. 31 the Olympic Torch Relay passes through Metchosin at 8:16 a.m., Colwood at 8:32 a.m., Fort Rodd Hill at 9:15 a.m. and West Shore Parks and Recreation around 9:30. The relay is scheduled to hit Langford at 10:33 a.m.

The torch is scheduled to be in View Royal today (Oct. 30), at 12:27 p.m. finishing at Helmcken Centennial Park.

Greater Victoria buses face delays due to torch relay

The Olympic Torch Relay will disrupt bus service sporadically across Victoria Friday and Saturday, says BC Transit.

Victoria, Esquimalt, View Royal, Sidney, North Saanich, Central Saanich, Saanich and Oak Bay can expect interruptions on Oct. 30, for most of the day.

Transit delays will hit Sooke, Metchosin, Colwood and Langford on Oct. 31 until about 11 a.m.
