A bank robber fled the Admiral’s Walk Scotiabank red-handed after being blotted by a security dye pack.
The man passed a threatening note to a teller at about 10:10 a.m. Wednesday and ran off with an undisclosed amount of cash. No bank employees were injured, but were offered victim services counselling.
West Shore RCMP say the dye pack burst as he fled the bank, leaving his skin and clothing stained red. The man is described as 40 to 50 years old with a dark complexion and a pony tail.
Another person drove the getaway vehicle, described as a late 1990s burgundy Chevy pickup, extended cab, 4x4 Z21 package, with a short box.
Police say they drove away toward Esquimalt on Admirals Road.
If anyone sees a red-stained person matching this description, RCMP says call 911 but do not approach the man.
