Ken Jr. and Greg Brotherston could be granted bail.
After being arrested in May of 2008 after the death of Keith Taylor, Ken Jr. and Greg, sons of former Highlands councillor Ken Brotherston Sr., have been awaiting trial in jail.
Through the Court of Appeal for British Columbia, Justice Finch decided to review the possibility of bail for both Ken Jr. and Greg.
The brothers will receive a bail review in front of three judges, said Ken Jr.’s lawyer Richard Neary.
“It’s good and obviously a step in the right direction,” he said.
The bail review will likely occur at the end of September or early October.
Ken Sr., Ken Jr. and Greg are charged with second degree murder of Taylor, who was driven to the West Shore RCMP detachment parking lot on May 30, 2008. He was declared dead at the detachment.
All three are also charged with three counts of assault with a weapon on Andrea Olson, Alan Arsenault and Devon Daughtry.
Ken Sr. was released on bail in July 2008.
