Greater Victoria star gazers can catch a glimpse of the International Space Station throughout July.
“It’s interesting because Robert Thirsk, the Canadian astronaut is onboard,” said Steve Ewald, from the Centre of the Universe observatory in Saanich.
Thirsk, who was born in New Westminster, left on his six-month space odyssey May 27. The ISS is the largest artificial satellite in Earth's orbit.
The station will be visible to the naked eye at various intervals.
On July 10 it will arc across Greater Victoria at midnight, 1:36 a.m., 3:11 a.m. and 10:50 p.m. Each pass lasts five or six minutes.
