Taking the soft tack at Thetis Lake

A sunny summer day is a sure bet for hundreds, if not thousands of beachgoers to hit Thetis Lake park, but with that comes alcohol, cliff jumping and possible injury.

In June, Capital Regional District bylaw officers evicted 133 people from the lake and reported 1,288 liquor-related infractions, a small fraction of the expected 150,000 visitors over the summer months.

In this video, CRD parks and bylaw officers talk about the tradition of drinking at Thetis and taking an understanding approach to people bringing booze to the lake.
