Chum, coho and chinook salmon are pushing their way up Golstream River for the annual spawning season.

Goldstream park naturalist Nicole Polet said recent heavy rains helped kick off this year’s run, which typically lasts until early December.

Best public viewing times are in mid-November, but visitors are welcome any time.

The Goldstream Nature House will be running weekend events for kids in upcoming weeks.

Check out www.naturehouse.ca or call the nature house at 250-478-9414.
