Limit fireworks
Dear editor,
As the owner of a dog, I would like to address the proliferation of fireworks and fire crackers going off every five to 15 minutes for the last four days in my neighbourhood.
I have a dog who cannot handle the loud and constant noise.
After one goes off, she shakes for about an hour and tries to find a safe place to hide.
No amount of comforting can alleviate the problem.
Another nuisance that stems from the fireworks going off is the fact that all of the members of my household work nights, therefore our rest is disturbed by the noise, as well.
Although I realize that this letter will probably be in the Gazette after Hallowe’en night, we would appreciate that people consider that not everyone has the same love of fireworks that they do.
We prepare ourselves for the occasions that call for the display, but the randomness of the current situation is unsettling, to say the least.
Maybe they could save them until Hallowe’en, in future, and we can deal with one night of having a terrorized dog.
