Follow money to the truth

Dear editor,
Ken Knopp wrote in a letter to the North Island Gazette, saying he was confused about whom to vote for.
He says he can’t tell who is lying. All I can advise him is to follow the money. The bigger the money-backing, the more likely he’ll find a liar.
Candidates with big money behind them will not have the public’s interest at heart. They advocate tax cuts for big businesses, who are getting rich off public property (mines, raw logs and public waterways).
Big oil barons get millions of bucks in grants every time they drill, not to mention tax breaks to the moon. Small businessmen and employees don’t get anything. Is this fair?
Another thing, it’s hard to do something tangible for the North Island when our reps are stopped by the overwhelming bullying of the majority in Parliament, or in the Legislature, who are more interested in helping out big city interests, even foreign cities, over our interests in the North Island.
I am voting for Canada for Canadians and no raw logs exporting. Catherine Bell is against raw log exports and against foreign sweatshops. She’s also supports environmental preservation, without making working stiffs pay the full brunt of it.
The Carbon Tax, despite what the Greens and Conservatives say, falls most heavily on working stiffs, the elderly and the poor, especially in rural Canada.
What are you voting for?
