Keylock’s got this man’s vote

Dear editor,
With the upcoming byelection, I did as much research as possible on all the candidates via their websites and public statements.
After this thorough and thoughtful review, Kip Keylock has earned my vote for a number of reasons.
First of all, I think we need a political outsider’s point of view forged by real world entrepreneurial experience at the council table. Kip clearly understands the real challenges of doing business in Courtenay and will strive to improve the business environment to support the much-needed economic innovation and investment we desperately need.
When I combine these two facts with his understanding of land use issues (the primary role of local government), respect for our scarce natural resources and his unwavering support of economic and social sustainability, he has got my vote.
Kip also understands that within the context of the MOU, RGS and Sustainability Strategy, co-operation between the Comox Valley jurisdictions is critical to our short-term and long-term success in Courtenay as we move towards one local government for the Comox Valley.
Scott Harrison,
Courtenay
