Erik Eriksson

On Nov. 7, I offer some things none of the other candidates have to offer — experience and time. Twenty years ago, I served on a Courtenay City Council that made some incredible positive changes — transit, walkways, recreation facilities, environmental council, underground wiring, low-income housing, rental vacancy studies, social planning council and more. I decided not to run for re-election because of family commitment. However, I still was engaged in community service. I am a director of the Food Bank Society and the Economic Development Society and, until last month, the Community Foundation. I was the chair of the Sandwick Transition Advisory Committee and I am the treasurer of my choir, the Celebration Singers. Every Wednesday, I play piano at the soup kitchen, and most Fridays at the Casa Loma Seniors’ Village.

Through my commitment and service, I have become the most connected with the entire spectrum of the community — from the Sonshine Club to the Golf Club. And everywhere in between. I care about them all. In the last election, I was a close first runner-up. That means that this time could be the time that I am returned to city council. I would appreciate your support.
