I am running for council in response to many friends and neighbours who believe my ability to get results, along with my skills as a consensus builder and team player, will help us build a stronger and more resilient community.
As your councillor, my priorities include:
• Diversifying our economy and creating jobs by promoting Courtenay as a centre for education, innovation, research and development;
• Making Courtenay a leader in environmental stewardship by protecting the estuary, committing to cycling infrastructure, encouraging sustainable agriculture and water conservation;
• Supporting families through access to recreation and child care;
• Improving community amenities by building bus shelters, walking paths and playing fields;
• Promoting our vibrant arts and cultural community and celebrating our growing diversity;
• Addressing homelessness by building on the efforts of our housing advocates, seeking innovative solutions and strong advocacy to senior governments;
• Enhancing opportunities for citizen engagement and access to decision making.
Let’s work together to provide the services we need, keep taxes affordable and protect our quality of life. Let’s build a safe, respectful and inclusive community.
