Courtenay, jewel of the Island with so much opportunity to be more. Vision with passion can transform our community, taking it beyond petty bureaucracy into a leadership role for others to follow. We don’t have to send our youth and loved ones away to find meaningful employment, nor ride the backs of our senior citizens with heavy property taxes. Together, with tax incentives, we can invite targeted industries; technology, enviromental, energy, value-added manufacturing and processing. Encourage tourism, and work with developers, investors and employers at all levels to bring jobs, tax income and infrastructure to our Valley. Together, we can build on our existing social programs to care for our most vulnerable. Move forward with our hospital, bridge, police station, single Valley government and plasma gasification. As councillor, I will listen carefully and work passionately for our city and community, seek opportunities for our future and conscientiously balance our need for commerce and sustainability, development and quality of life, prosperity and environment important for a healthy community.
