Halloween is now gone and winter is bearing down on the Comox Valley like a fresh southeaster.
To enhance your winter stoke, two of this winter’s most critically acclaimed snow-sports films, Matchstick Productions’ In Deep and Alterna Action Films’ Elektro, premiere at North Island College Nov. 13.
Doors swing open to the Stan Hagen Theatre at 7 on Friday night. The double feature begins at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets for the premiere are $15, which includes both movies, a mid-week two-for-one lift ticket voucher at Mount Washington, and a chance to win some sweet winter swag.
The double feature kicks off with Matchstick Productions’ (MSP) latest masterpiece, In Deep. Matchstick once again unites the best skiers in the world, including Mark Abma, Sean Pettit, Eric Hjorleifson, Daron Rahlves, Henrik Windstedt, Chris Davenport, Bobby Brown and Colby West.
Following a short intermission, Alterna Action Films returns to the Comox Valley with Elektro, which is inspired filmmaking and technical freestyle snowboarding at its highest level.
Riders in Elektro include: Benji Ritchie, Mikey Rencz, Matt Belzile, Chris Dufficy, Eero Niemela, Logan Haubrich, Tadej Valentan, Chris Rasman, Gaetan Chanut, JF Fortin, Matt Beardmore, Vera Janssen, Craig Beaulieu, and Seb Toots.
To guarantee a seat to the double feature, purchase advance tickets at Blue Toque Sports Swap on Fifth Street in Courtenay. Tickets will also be sold at the door on a first-come, first-serve basis. — Mount
