As a part of Comox District Mountaineering Club’s occasional “international adventures,” you are invited to an evening presentation on hiking, whales and organic farming in Baja, Mexico.

This Thursday, starting at 7 p.m. at Creekside Commons, Susan Holvenstot will talk about spending two months last winter in Baja California, Mexico, the 1,000-mile-long peninsula directly south of California.

Holvenstot, who will lead a trip there in 2010, brought back an incredible DVD of visits with the “friendly whales” of San Ignacio Lagoon.

Creekside Commons at 2202 Lambert Dr. is reached by taking Cumberland Road, turning left on Arden, and left again on Morello, then following the signs to Creekside. Parking is limited, so carpooling is suggested.

The free evening begins at 7 p.m. Bring slippers, as Creekside has a “shoes off” policy. Call Susan at 250-334-2375 for more information.
