Two people critical after car slams Campbell River business

Two people were critically injured and were rushed to hospital on Saturday afternoon after a car lost control and crashed into Sampson's Janitorial World on Homewood Road.

According to eye witness accounts, the car traveled across the double yellow lines and clipped a road sign before crashing into a parked van located in the parking lot in front of Sampson's Janitorial World.

"I came around the corner and a vehicle was coming towards me crossing the centre line," said Brenda Troiano, a witness to the accident. "I got out of the way as they were going faster and faster, and looked into my rear-view mirror and they continued straight off the road and into the building, knocking things over on the way."

A small girl was removed from the vehicle prior to police and paramedics' arrival on the scene and an adult male, the driver of the vehicle, was removed from the car after emergency teams were forced to use the jaws of life to extract him from the wreckage.
