A 37-year-old woman has been identified as the victim of a fatal car accident outside Cameron Lake last weekend.
Oceanside RCMP say that Tara Burns of Campbell River was found dead inside her 1995 black Jeep Cherokee early Sunday afternoon. The vehicle was found upside down under water in Cameron Lake, a press release noted.
Central Island Traffic Services and the Oceanside RCMP continue to investigate the accident, and are focusing on causal factors. However, police say, there is no indication that alcohol consumption played a role, the release noted.
