Art and fashion fusion
Campbell River Art Gallery’s Wearable Art Fashion Show & Art Auction on Aug. 6, promises to be the event of the season.
Six regional artists will show fabulous art pieces created for their models. Their ideas for fashion stretch the limits of imagination beyond conventional standards and into another realm, says Gallery director Jeanette Taylor.
“Expect to be amazed,” she adds. “These are art pieces made from a crazy assortment of materials, from felting and recycled bags to chopsticks.”
The ticket price of $35 includes the fashion show, an art auction, a delicious selection of finger foods and a glass of wine.
The pieces up for bids by silent auction were created by regional artists to contribute to this fund raiser in support of public programs.
Most embody a sense of our community, like art instructor Sandra Lamb’s chalk pastel of the fishing pier, backed by a moody sky over Quadra Island.
The event, sponsored by Campbell River Physiotherapy and Kask Graphics, starts at 7 p.m., at Campbell River Art Gallery.
Tickets are available in the Gallery’s Gift Shop, which is open Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call 250-287-2261.
