Good neighbours help each other out.

“We couldn’t ask for better neighbours,” said Janet Scotland with Coast Realty, which is right next door to the Radiant Life church on Cypress Street behind the fire hall. “We try to help them out as we can.”

On Sunday, Oct. 18, 12 agents and staff from the realty office served Thanksgiving dinner to dozens of homeless people at the church’s soup kitchen.

“It went very well,” said Scotland, who added it was an eye-opener to see how many needy people lined up for a hot meal.

It was a good experience for all the volunteers from the realty, who contributed cash out of their own social fund to pay for the dinner.

“It’s a very rewarding experience to be there,” she said, pointing everyone had fun, from diners to servers.
