Visit National Child Day’s Safety Zone
Nurse Hazel will give teddy bears and dolls of all shapes and sizes a check up at National Child Day’s Safety Zone on Nov. 20.
Even the most vigilant parent sometimes gets caught off guard by a child’s unexpected acts.
So what can parents do to safeguard their kids? Start by bringing them to the Campbell River Community Centre for the Nov. 20 National Child Day’s Safety Zone between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The Safety Zone is designed to meet the needs of parents and young children all in one place and at one time. In the Kidz Safety Zone, young children will enjoy a number of safety-oriented activities. Sing about safety with Carrie Bridges to the simple tune of “Row, row, row your boat.”
Get this year’s brand new safety coloring book, and meet safety professionals from the Fire Department, the Red Cross, Emergency Preparedness, SPCA and Search and Rescue.
While parents are gathering information and asking questions, young children can keep busy with the “doll hospital” where teddy bears and dolls of all shapes and sizes can receive bandages and a certificate of health by Nurse Hazel.
Also, join Elaine Julian from the Vancouver Island Regional Library as she hosts Safety Story Time and Child Find for finger printing.
Need another reason to visit?
“It’s simple,” says long-time safety veteran Judy Hagen, best known as Miss Judi with her petite canine Maggi. “The information you get here can save your child’s life.”
