In celebration of their 15th year anniversary, Oceanside Dental Spa (left) has donated $20,000 to the Campbell River Community Foundation (CRCF) in the name of Dr. Martin and Lisa Rahn Family Fund.

“The Community Foundation has given me an opportunity to give back to this great community from which both my family and I have enjoyed being a part of for the last 15 years and appreciate the quality of life it has offered us,” said Dr. Rahn.

The foundation’s mission is to enrich life in Campbell River by developing a permanent endowment fund which supports many community groups and charitable organizations.

“The investment in projects that are used to enhance and improve our community is of paramount importance for the needs of today and for those of the future,” Rahn added. “I am most grateful to the foundation for recognizing the need to sustain the level of contributions year to year by developing a permanent endowment that generates perpetual funds that are made available annually to fund local projects.”

The Rahns are proud to be helping the community and honoured to be a Founding Principle Patron with the foundation.

“We’re thrilled the Rahns have chosen the Campbell River Community Foundation as their vehicle for making a lasting contribution to the community in which they are building their business and lives,” says Judy Shepley, foundation president. “By setting up their Family Endowment Fund, the Rahns are establishing a program that allows their investment to serve the community generously for years to come. The opening of this fund is also a step towards involving more members of the community in this type of giving, providing an example for others who would like to leave a family legacy.”

Financial gifts are pooled and invested. The interest is then distributed as grants to local charitable organizations. The foundation strives to use the income in areas of education, health and welfare, culture, environment, parks, youth and seniors.

“Our hope is for the income to serve the interests of health, youth and environment charitable organizations that are an essential part of providing the pathway to a sustainable future,” said Lisa Rahn. If you are interested in starting a Family Endowment fund, call the Community Foundation at 287-0990 or e-mail info@crcommunityfoundation.ca. Oceanside Dental Spa has been operating in Willow Point since 1994.
