Qualicum Beach is not West Van
Your story about the Crystal Terraces condo project in Qualicum Beach (The News, Sept. 17) was laughable.
Regardless, Neil dutifully reports that the manager feels that this development is adding to the community and will be absolutely positive in terms of the waterfront.
The joke here is that British Columbia has dozens of towns with large condo developments like this along their bluffs or on their beaches.
We live in Qualicum Beach because it is not like all these other towns.
It is no laughing matter, however, that the $50 million investment by these developers will yield huge profits for them while the natural beauty of our waterfront is further compromised by their large condo development.
