Liberals back off nomination
With the prospect of a federal election fading, Liberals in the Nanaimo-Alberni riding are also seeing the date when they’ll have an official candidate recede.
Riding association president Paula Waatainen said the party has no lack of high-profile people thinking of seeking the nomination, but they’re playing their cards close to their chests.
“We continue to have people interested, but they tend to be very busy individuals with other things they are doing,” she said. At this point will have to get close to the timing of an election for someone to commit to the candidacy. Maybe in the spring.
